It was recently announced by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam that Tennessee would be considering a modified Medicaid expansion in that state. Tennessee joins a growing list of states that are considering a Medicaid expansion either in a traditional format or a modified version. Pennsylvania already has been approved by CMS to do a modified version of Medicaid expansion. Other states considering expansion or have pending proposals are: Alaska, Indiana, Montana, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia and Wyoming. For a full breakdown of where states stand on Medicaid expansion, see this map prepared by the Kaiser Family Foundation.
