Families USA Brief Contrasts Medicaid Expansion in Two States

May 1, 2015 by NDNRC

Earlier this week, Families USA released an issue brief that examines the effect of Medicaid expansion on two people who live in neighboring but different states. The brief entitled “A Tale of Two States: Decisions about Extending Medicaid Can Drastically Affect Residents’ Lives” looks at two women who have very different experiences as one lives in a state that has expanded Medicaid (Iowa) while the other lives in one that has not (Missouri). Families USA also published a blog article which looks at another person’s experience in Kentucky (which has expanded Medicaid). These real world examples show the difference that Medicaid expansion can have on someone’s health and life. To download the issue brief, click here and to access the blog article, click here. The issue brief can also be found on the state pages for Iowa and Missouri.
