Health Insurance Jeopardy
Over the last two weeks, we have released a series of six videos entitled “Health Insurance Jeopardy.” The Jeopardy presentation is one we have done on several occasions and for those of you who haven’t seen it before, we say that a consumer looking at plans on the ACA marketplace is like playing a game of Health Insurance Jeopardy. The reason we call it that is just like in the Jeopardy game show, it’s not about the answer. It’s about asking the right question and consumers need to make sure they are asking the right questions about the plans being offered in order to make an informed choice.
These videos address some of the main topics that people with disabilities need to consider when selecting an insurance plan on the ACA marketplace. The six videos range in length from 3 ½ minutes up to six minutes so that they can be viewed in short increments. They address topics such as prescription drugs, medical devices, rehabilitation and habilitation therapies, Medicaid eligibility, the summary of benefits and coverage and mental health. Each video presents scenarios of potential consumers who you might meet in your role as a navigator and addresses the questions they need to be asking when looking to enroll in coverage in the ACA Marketplace.
