NDNRC RECEIVES YEAR 3 FUNDING

We were pleased to announce this week that the National Disability Navigator Resource Collaborative (NDNRC) has received funding for a third year. As part of that new year of funding, we are expanding our Community Outreach Collaboratives (COCs) from eleven to eighteen. The seven new locations will be located in six states. To read the full announcement which includes all the COC locations, click here. The collaborative continues to be made possible by an additional one-year grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The National Health Council has released a new study entitled “Measuring the Patient Experiences in Exchanges” which examines consumer satisfaction of marketplace plans of those individuals who have chronic conditions. To read our news item on this study which looks at the importance of this issue in the broader ACA landscape (and has a link to download the study), click here.

The Kaiser Family Foundation has published a new issue brief that looks at the number of Americans who remain uninsured. This issue brief also has stats for each state, so be sure to check out our news item to download a copy and see how your state fares by clicking here. This is in addition to last week’s Kaiser fact sheet which examined the makeup of the uninsured population. To read that news item, click here.

Last Friday’s CMS Assisters webinar addressed the issues that returning consumers may have when they are reconciling their Advanced Premium Tax Credits (APTC) and attempt to get redetermined if they are eligible for APTC in 2016. So if you need a refresher on these topics, be sure to download the slides by clicking here. The recording of the webinar can also be accessed here. Finally, if you want more information on what is needed to qualify for 2016 ATPC, check out the Health Affairs blog post entitled “How to Qualify for Advance Premium Tax Credits for 2016.”

With open enrollment just over two weeks away, make sure you have all the NDNRC Materials you’ll need. The NDNRC “Guide to Disability for Healthcare Insurance Marketplace Navigators” is available in web and PDF format here. The seventeen topical fact sheets and six population specific fact sheets are available here.

Are you looking for local partners to help with outreach to the disability community? The NDNRC is funding eighteen Community Outreach Collaboratives (COCs) for the third year of enrollment. This includes the eleven that were funded last year, plus seven new locations in six new states. The COCs will increase collaborations in the community, dissemination and outreach efforts and enrollment of people with disabilities in the ACA. To find a COC, click here.
