The Kaiser Family Foundation has released a new issue brief on a literature review it conducted of all the research done on the effects of Medicaid expansion. The literature review entitled “The Effects of Medicaid Expansion under the ACA: Updated Findings from a Literature Review” examined the effects of Medicaid expansion on several areas including: access to coverage, affordability of care and economic effects. The review found that research indicated that Medicaid expansion had by and large positive effects in all these areas and a limited number of reports found that it had little or no effect. No research found that Medicaid expansion had detrimental effects.
