The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) has released a new series of state specific fact sheets which highlight the Medicaid coverage gap which exists in the 11 states which have not expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. These fact sheets detail the demographics of those individuals in the states which could be covered under the Medicaid expansion if the states were to expand. The fact sheets also provide information on how the lack of expansion has affected health outcomes within each state and how much the American Rescue Plan Act would provide in federal dollars to the individual states if these states were to expand.
States which have not expanded Medicaid and covered by these fact sheets are as follows: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Dakota, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas & Wyoming. The fact sheets are available on the CBPP website.
