AAHD PRESENTS TO YI SUMMIT
This week, Young Invincibles hosted their annual Outreach and Enrollment Summit. During the presentation, we highlighted important statistics which demonstrate the health disparities faced by the disability community, these include the fact that people with disabilities are:
- 30% more likely to be obese
- 60% more likely to smoke
- 2.5 times more likely to develop diabetes
- 3 times more likely to have cardiovascular disease
- 2 times more likely not to see a doctor due to cost
