One of the biggest considerations by consumers when choosing a health plan is which providers are part of the network. Navigators and enrollment specialists may be asked by those they are assisting whether or not a qualified health plan will cover physicians with whom they are already treating. Finding the answers to which providers are part of a given network can be a challenge and a new report from the Urban Institute analyzes this issue. The Urban Institute reviewed plans on both the federal website as well as the website for nine of the state-based marketplaces. The report outlines its findings, including where physician directories can be found and how useful they are. They also make recommendations for how plans can increase transparency regarding their networks. To download and read the full report, click here.
