Understanding Terminology Used by States in ACA Reporting

October 21, 2014 by NDNRC

As you read reporting from different states on ACA enrollment, it is necessary to understand the specific terminology used as it can vary from state to state. A new report from the State Health Access Data Assistance Center (SHADAC), the State Health Exchange Leadership Network, the State Health Reform Assistance Network and the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) is here to help. The report entitled “Terms & Definitions Used by States Reporting on ACA Enrollment” breaks down how states used terms like “Total Enrollment,” “QHP Enrollment” and “Medicaid Enrollment” among others. To download a copy of the report, click here. The report can also be found on our Resources & Links page under “Enrollment Resources – Overview.”
