HHS PROVIDES NEW GUIDANCE ON COVERAGE OF PREVENTIVE SERVICES

Do you get inquiries from consumers about what preventive services are covered by plans at no cost to them? HHS has released a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) which provides some guidance on some of the more complex scenarios. Be sure to check out our news item on this guidance which includes a link to download a copy by clicking here. It can also be found on our Resources & Links page under “Enrollment Resources – Overview.”

If you do work in rural areas, then check out the new policy brief from the Rural Policy Research Institute which addresses the changes in plans between year one and year two and what can be done to improve access to coverage. To read our news item on this brief which includes a link to download a copy of the brief, click here.

For those of you who are following the King v. Burwell case that is currently pending before the Supreme Court, you’ll want to check out a new brief from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation which looks at the impact a ruling against the tax subsidies would have especially in the 21 states which have not expanded Medicaid. The brief entitled “The Combined Effect of Not Expanding Medicaid and Losing Marketplace Assistance” can be accessed by clicking here.

Are you looking for local partners to help with outreach to the disability community? The NDNRC has funded eleven Community Outreach Collaboratives (COCs) for the second year of enrollment. The COCs will increase collaborations in the community, dissemination and outreach efforts and enrollment of people with disabilities in the ACA. To find a COC, click here.
