The Colorado Health Institute has released a report entitled “Narrow Networks in Colorado: Balancing Access and Affordability.” This report looks at a growing trend where insurance carriers offer narrower provider networks as a way to contain costs. The upside is lower premiums, but the downside is reduced access which can raise the issue of a lack of network adequacy. This report takes a closer look at what is happening in Colorado on this issue from a number of perspectives including regulatory, advocacy and legislative. A copy of this report can be accessed on the Colorado state page or by clicking here.
