The Federal Poverty Level (FPL) was updated for 2016 in January, but until recently the Marketplace was using the 2015 FPL. The FPL is used in the Marketplace to determine eligibility for the Advanced Premium Tax Credit and Medicaid eligibility so these are the levels which will be used to determine 2017 eligibility. CMS announced within the last week that the Marketplace will now be using the updated FPL to also calculate Medicaid and CHIP determinations going forward in 2016. For the new FPL, click here.
