New Issue Brief on Medicaid Enrollment and the Marketplace

April 12, 2016 by NDNRC

The Commonwealth Fund has released a new issue brief entitled “Streamlining Medicaid Enrollment: The Role of the Health Insurance Marketplaces and the Impact of State Policies.” This brief examines the difference in Medicaid enrollment in states with state-based marketplaces, states on the federally facilitated marketplace where the marketplace makes the eligibility determination and states on the federally facilitated marketplace where the eligibility determination is referred to the state Medicaid agency. The brief then goes on to examine the effectiveness of these three different approaches and how that impacts Medicaid enrollment in the states. To download a copy of the brief, click here.
