Kaiser Brief Examines Effect of UnitedHealth Marketplace Withdrawal

April 21, 2016 by NDNRC

On Tuesday, UnitedHealth announced it would be withdrawing from the ACA Marketplaces in all but a few states. The Kaiser Family Foundation has released a new issue brief which examines how UnitedHealth’s exit from the market will affect consumer choice and premium rates. The brief entitled “Analysis of UnitedHealth Group’s Premiums and Participation in ACA Marketplaces” breaks down how the move affects market participation by county. It also shows how it will impact each state and the number of people in the counties in each state where UnitedHealth currently offers coverage. To download a copy of the issue brief, click here.
