Kaiser Brief Looks at Medicaid Work Requirements

January 17, 2018 by NDNRC

A new issue brief from the Kaiser Family Foundation examines the new guidance from CMS to states who are interested in submitting waiver applications to add work requirements for Medicaid eligibility. So far, 10 states have submitted applications to CMS for a waiver to add work requirements (Arkansas, Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Utah and Wisconsin). CMS has already approved the waiver in Kentucky. The issue brief “Medicaid and Work Requirements: New Guidance, State Waiver Details and Key Issues” looks at what the states are proposing and what some of the consequences could be for adding work requirements to the Medicaid program.
