AAHD PRESENTING IN BEYOND THE BASICS WEBINAR SERIES
AAHD is once again working with the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) and will be presenting in its fall “Beyond the Basics” webinar series. In this webinar, we will address disability etiquette and basic accessibility considerations for anyone doing enrollment work, as well as provide an overview of questions a person with a disability needs to think about when considering their health care options in the marketplace. The webinar will be conducted on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM ET. You can register now for this webinar.

The Kaiser Family Foundation has released a series of state specific Medicaid fact sheets which includes breakdowns of several demographics related to health insurance and Medicaid coverage. To learn more or to download the fact sheet they did on Medicaid coverage throughout the United States, check out our news item. You can find each state’s fact sheet on the individual state page which can be reached from the State Resource map on our website.

This week, the Kaiser Family Foundation released its annual survey on employer provided health benefits. The survey finds that premiums for employer based coverage continue to track around the same rate as wages and inflation but employees’ share of deductibles have gone up significantly.
The Collaborative on Health Reform and Independent Living (CHRIL) is looking for volunteers for their “Disability Stories Project.” Specifically, they are looking for individuals with disabilities who would be willing to share how the need for health insurance affects choices about participating in disability programs or working. They are also inviting anyone to join between the ages of 18-64 who has a story to tell about how issues in health policy have affected them. If you’re interested in being interviewed for this project, they will be conducting interviews this weekend during the APRIL Conference in Denver, CO. The interview form can be found on the Disability Stories Project page linked above.
Last Friday, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Eligibility Determinations and Enrollment Report from July 2018. This report can also be found on our Resources & Links page under “Enrollment Statistics.” Prior Medicaid enrollment reports from CMS, are archived on our website.
