A new report from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation along with the Georgetown University’s Health Policy Institute and the Urban Institute takes a look at the rise of short-term health plans and the way that issuers have been marketing them and states have been regulating them. The report entitled “The Marketing of Short-Term Health Plans: An Assessment of Industry Practices and State Regulatory Responses” finds that consumers can find confusing information online when searching for health insurance plans and state regulators need more information and/or authority to effectively regulate this area.
