A new report from the Census Bureau shows that the uninsured rate increased from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, the uninsured rate rose to 8.5% which is the first increase in the uninsured rate since the passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010. The largest loss of coverage occurred in the Medicaid program as coverage under the Medicaid program dropped 0.7%.
