A new issue brief from the Kaiser Family Foundation looks at the participation rates for insurers from 2014 through the 2020 marketplace. The brief shows that the insurer participation rate for 2020 has improved from 2019 as the number of insurers per state has risen to 4.5 – up from 4.0 in 2019 and a low of 3.5 in 2018. The brief reports that 67% of individuals are living in a county with three or more insurance companies from which they can choose.
