CMS Releases Fact Sheet on ARPA and the ACA Marketplace

March 15, 2021 by NDNRC

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) was passed by Congress and signed into law last week. Many of the provisions in the ARPA will have a direct effect on the ACA marketplaces. CMS has released a fact sheet which explains many of the provisions in the new law and how it will affect premium tax credits available through the ACA marketplace. CMS estimates that with the new tax credits available under the law, over half of consumers will be able to find a silver plan which will cost them $10 per month or less.

If you want to know how the tax credits could affect specific cases, check out our prior news item on the updated subsidy calculator by the Kaiser Family Foundation.
