PREPARING FOR CHANGES: MEDICAID AND THE ACA
The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) has announced dates for the “Beyond the Basics” fall webinar series, which starts on Tuesday, September 9. Each webinar will be recorded and shared, with an hour-long “office hours” session to walk through all the complicated changes that the Marketplace will face going forward.
The first webinar will be on “Household and Income” and will look at changes in ACA marketplace eligibility and enrollment policy due to new marketplace program integrity regulation. You can sign up for the webinar here.
The Kaiser Family Foundation continues to update their state tracker on how the budget reconciliation will affect the uninsured rate in each state. Overall, these changes could lead to an increase of over 10 million people being uninsured by 2034.
Cuts to Medicaid could lead to a decrease in behavioral health services being covered, as noted by the Commonwealth Fund in their blog.
Eight Years of CBPP and NDNRC
AAHD wants to thank the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) for its partnership on this work! Since 2017, CBPP has supported this newsletter, which has aimed to keep navigators informed of health reform and Medicaid news as it related to disability and addressed enrollment concerns for the disability community. With the conclusion of our contract with CBPP, AAHD will be pausing the NDNRC newsletter and relaunching it with a focus on changes to Medicaid and the ACA Marketplace.
Archives of our weekly updates are available on the NDNRC website.
