The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) has released a brief through it’s State Health Reform Assistance Network program on the effect of Medicaid expansion on the costs for uncompensated care. The brief entitled “The Impact of Medicaid Expansion on Uncompensated Care Costs: Early Results and Policy Implications for States” looks at nine states which expanded Medicaid and how that expansion has affected uncompensated care provided by hospitals and the impact it has had on state budgets and has helpful data for advocates in those states where expansion has not yet occurred.
