Families USA Report Looks at Medicaid Churn

April 17, 2019 by NDNRC

A new report from Families USA addresses the issue of “churning” in the Medicaid program. Churning is when circumstances occur which cause an individual’s eligibility in the Medicaid program to change, such as an individual’s income fluctuating, causing them to go between Medicaid eligibility and eligibility for coverage through the Marketplace. The report from Families USA addresses the administrative burden on beneficiaries and how it has caused 1.5 million Americans to lose their Medicaid coverage in 2018.
