SLIDES AVAILABLE FOR NDNRC/CMS ASSISTERS WEBINAR
Last week, we presented on the CMS Assisters webinar. This presentation included a general overview of the resources available through the NDNRC and our newest “Health Insurance Jeopardy” round which focused on the population specific fact sheets we released last year. To view the archived webinar or access the slides, read our news story by clicking here. The slides are also available on our “Webinars/Presentations” page by clicking here.
We also recognize that there were some technical difficulties with the webinar and we are willing to conduct a webinar for navigator groups if needed. To learn more about having the NDNRC conduct a webinar for your navigators, contact us by clicking here.
This is the final stretch for individuals to enroll for full year coverage as those who want to have coverage on January 1 need to enroll by December 15th. Do you know what the tax penalties will be for not having coverage next year? The Kaiser Family Foundation released a new issue brief this week which looks at the tax penalty individuals will face for not fulfilling the mandate. This information could be a useful incentive to get people to enroll who have not done so before. To read more about the 2016 penalties and to download the issue brief, click here.
Mental Health America conducted a webinar last month on Medicaid redesign and expansion. The webinar focused on three state experiences – two that have expanded Medicaid (Colorado and New York) and one that hasn’t (North Carolina). To download the presentation, click here. The presentation is also available on the three state pages of Colorado, New York and North Carolina under “State Specific Resources.”
Are you looking for local partners to help with outreach to the disability community? The NDNRC is funding eighteen Community Outreach Collaboratives (COCs) for the third year of enrollment. This includes the eleven that were funded last year, plus seven new locations in six new states. The COCs will increase collaborations in the community, dissemination and outreach efforts and enrollment of people with disabilities in the ACA. To find a COC, click here.
Finally, as you’re going through open enrollment, make sure you have all our NDNRC resources including our Disability Guide and fact sheets.
