NDNRC TO PRESENT ON THREE WEBINARS
Over the next two weeks, the NDNRC will be presenting on three different webinars. First, the American Association on Health and Disability is pleased to announce that we are hosting a webinar which will feature a representative from the White House Office of Public Engagement on healthcare coverage outreach and enrollment for people with disabilities. This webinar will be held on Thursday, January 15 at 2:00 PM EST. To register for this webinar, click here. We will also be presenting on a webinar hosted by the United Spinal Association on Wednesday, January 14 at 2:00 PM EST. To register for this webinar, click here. Finally, on Tuesday, January 20 at 1:00 PM EST, we will be presenting on a webinar hosted by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). To register for this webinar, click here.
All three of these webinars will serve as a re-introduction to the NDNRC and help you think about what questions a person with a disability needs to think about when they are considering their health care options in the ACA Marketplace. Additionally, they will explain how the NDNRC is helping lead efforts to conduct community, state and national outreach to the disability community to encourage enrollment and how you can be involved in helping people with disabilities get the healthcare coverage they need. Disability advocates, people with disabilities and anyone doing healthcare enrollment, including navigators are encouraged to participate.
In case you missed it before the holidays, we released several population specific fact sheets which are intended to help Navigators identify what issues are unique to consumers with a specific condition so that they can assist them as they make decisions related to their healthcare coverage. The population specific fact sheets which we have released so far are as follows:
- What to Know When Assisting Children and Adults in the Autism Community – newly updated
- What to Know When Assisting a Consumer with Intellectual Disability
- What to Know When Assisting a Consumer with Mental Illness
- What to Know When Assisting a Consumer with Multiple Sclerosis
- Information for Veterans Regarding Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare
In the coming weeks, we will also be releasing fact sheets on assisting consumers with paralysis and a child with special health care needs. Additionally, we have new topical fact sheets which will be released in the near future. The entire list of fact sheets can be found here.
Are you looking for local partners to help with outreach to the disability community? The NDNRC has funded eleven Community Outreach Collaboratives (COCs) for the second year of enrollment. The COCs will increase collaborations in the community, dissemination and outreach efforts and enrollment of people with disabilities in the ACA. To find a COC, click here.
