AAHD RELEASES COVID VACCINE REPORT
The American Association on Health and Disability (AAHD) is pleased to release the results of our Vaccine Hesitancy Survey Among Adults with Disabilities, a rapid, real-time online study of the perspectives of adults with disabilities on the COVID-19 Vaccine. According to the survey, over 70% of respondents either have already been vaccinated or planned to be vaccinated. Vaccine Willingness Among Adults with Disabilities (n=4,131)
CMS has issued its Health Insurance Marketplaces 2021 Open Enrollment Report. The report shows that 12 million consumers were enrolled in a marketplace plan during Open Enrollment Year 8 (OE8). To learn more about the OE8 report or to download a copy, check out our news item.
This week, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that CMS will be supporting the navigator program with unprecedented funding for the upcoming open enrollment period for the 2022 plan year. Families USA has updated their report on the correlation between uninsurance and COVID-19 deaths. The updated report now includes appendices with state by state and county by county data.
A new blog post from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) details how Medicaid expansion can provide relief for hospitals by reducing the costs associated with uncompensated care.
In an effort to highlight the COVID SEP, AAHD has a project with Community Catalyst and other partners in conducting outreach to educate individuals about health insurance enrollment through the ACA Marketplace and Medicaid. This outreach includes graphics like the one below which highlight the opportunity to enroll due to COVID. These graphics are available in the Community Catalyst Outreach Hub. The NIDILRR-funded Collaborative on Health Reform and Independent Living (CHRIL) at the University of Kansas is looking for adults with disabilities to complete an online survey about health insurance, health care access and the current pandemic.
