The Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) continues to track Section 1115 waivers by state. The current administration has encouraged states to suggest and implement waivers that expand coverage and decrease health disparities. These waivers cover:
- Eligibility through enrollment expansions
- Benefit restrictions and copays
- Social determinants of health provisions
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has provided an update on proposed actions to help prevent the issue of unauthorized agent and broker activity on the Affordable Care Act Marketplace plans. This press release covered technological updates in security and data protection for Marketplace enrollees and consumers.
The Georgetown Center for Children and Families (CCF) continues to cover the new Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) requirements from CMS in September 2024. This guidance suggests best practices to help improve understanding and compliance to these services, as also reported in another analysis from CCF.

Keep up with vaccinations this flu season and be prepared with free at-home COVID-19 tests that are accessible for people who are blind or have low vision and those with low manual dexterity. Through the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) and the United States Postal Service (USPS), test will be able to detect current COVID-19 variants and can be used through the end of 2024.
